Even though you may enjoy watching internet videos, you may not realize how they can help increase traffic to your website. That said, if you are familiar with viral marketing, you will soon understand why videos have the potential to draw thousands of visitors to your site in a very short period of time. As may be expected, if you want to launch a successful viral video campaign, there are some things you will need to keep in mind.

Today, many business owners believe that a video should be strictly dedicated to showing consumers how to use a particular product. On the other hand, you may want to compare this belief to what search engine statistics and website viewer habits indicate. Without a question, you will find that the comic videos are the ones most inclined to reach viral status. For example, cute videos featuring pet antics routinely score in the top ten, as do ones featuring children.

Regardless of whether or not a video is relevant to your business, you can still use it to increase traffic to your website. Without a question, viewers will want to know more about you. They may even decide to visit your site in order to find out if there are any other interesting videos for them to watch. Chances are, if they find something of value, they may be more inclined to pass your weblink along to their friends.

Depending on how you distribute your video, it may or may not provide backlinks to your website. If you have a very popular video, it will still increase traffic to your website without the need for massive search engine optimization campaigns. On the other hand, if you can find a way to ensure that your video placement also enables you to have a valid backlink, it will of even more advantage to you.

Today, many people are learning that video hubs provide a number of resources that can help increase traffic to almost any website. Interestingly enough, web based video marketing is one of the few places where you may not need to strictly focus on your products or services. You may even be surprised to find that providing a video for the sake of humor will work far better than creating a thinly veiled sales pitch.

Hi Mya,

I want to thank you for this post because I have been taught that you need to make your videos about your business. My business is not who I am and I think that the internet is about branding oneself anyway they can. I am into building lasting relationships, therefore I do want to know more about each person as a person, not a business. I will try to make some videos that reflect who I am, not what I want to become. Thanks again!
