Finding a niche is easy if it's something you love doing, example, if your writing about “Mesothelioma” because it was reported lawyers were paying $50-$80 per click with adwords, well your going to find it tough. If you started writing about your favorite pass-time you will find you write more and you put more energy into it.
The people who succeed with blogs and webpages are those who follow their passion. I love playing poker, I don't have a poker blog, I would rather play it then start writing about it. The ones who started poker blogs have made money in this niche. I was more into reading them myself and mastering my techniques.
I found I loved to find ways to make money online so I pursued my passion and here I am talking about making money online. Believe me when I tell you this, I make no money from this blog... well at least not yet. I don't know if I am going to go further with monetizing it either, I have some things up here but I think mainly people are interested in what I am doing rather then leaving my site with an adword link.
So when you start a blog or website make sure you don't run out of things to say about the niche. Make sure your having some sort of enjoyment out of everything your doing. This will be more valuable to you then writing about something you know nothing about.

Finding Your Niche
I want to help people in finding themselves their proper niche. It can be difficult at times, there are many things that could hinder you along the way.
You need to find something your comfortable enough with that you can really get your people to understand it from your point of view. If you have no interest in a particular subject, even in your article writing or on your website people will know and have a feeling that your not into the subject as much as they would have liked you to be.
If you don't know about a product research it to the fullest. Make sure when anything comes along in the news you know what they are talking about and you can either write an article about your latest findings.
Offer something unique on that niche, something you don't see often in all the things you read but it is still relevant to the niche itself. People tend to go toward the latest and greatest niches, not necessarily a new niche but something inside an old niche that brought it back to life.
Just a little short update on niches to refresh your ideas and help you on your way.
Important backlinks to your website
Having backlinks to your site are links from other websites that point back to your site. You want to have relevant backlinks that deal with your niche. The more relevant backlink the higher the pagerank you get from google. This is how I am building myself with this website. I have been going to websites that deal with the same content as I do and leaving comments.
One way I am getting good results is I am using the time spent in Entrecard to my advantage. I am going to the big page ranked sites in Entrecard and advertising on them as well as reading some of their posts and leaving a comment. Since I am in Entrecard to get 300 cards a day I might as well be taking full advantage of it all.
Remember the more relevant backlinks to your site the higher you get on google for your niche.
